Huairou, Beijing – Chinese architects firm Li Xiaodong has created the Liyuan Library in a village on the outskirts of Beijing.
The library is made from locally sourced firewood, similar to that used by villagers to light their stoves. The building is defined by its location in the mountains, and was designed as a serene place of contemplation.
