London – Food company Housebites is sourcing a community of local cooks to prepare meals for people who live nearby. Customers can check online for chefs in their area and choose from a variety of dishes.
‘Too often with takeaways, a motorcyclist delivers the food and keeps his helmet on. They have no relationship to the food, you don’t know what it is going to be like and the chances are it is bulk-cooked,’ says Simon Prockter, co-founder of Housebites.
Housebites enables customers to view the chefs they order from, and often the dishes are delivered by the chefs themselves. This is giving customers a more personalised, Homedulgent service. For another example of specialised takeaway delivery, read our El Kombo Innovate.
