London – Design duo Studio Glithero is exhibiting a collection of mirrors at Gallery Fumi’s event for London Design Festival, Studioware.
The mirror frames are made by working wet plaster in a circular motion in a process that celebrates the imperfections of the design.
‘The most interesting part of the work for us is when material is transformed into a different state,’ says Tim Simpson, co-founder of Studio Glithero. ‘We always try to leave traces in our pieces that make them intrinsically connected to the moment that they are made.’
This way of celebrating process connects people to the craftsmanship of the piece. For another example of these designers wearing process with pride, read our Studio Glithero innovate.
