London – Social media, what it means to brands, and how to implement it effectively were the main topics of discussion yesterday at the first LS:N Global network evening. Five key speakers – each an expert in social media – and an intimate group of networkers met to discuss the ins and outs of Twittering and various social tools at Shoreditch’s Lounge Bohemia. Featured speakers on the night were the BBC’s Hugh Garry, James Bull of Moving Brands, social media consultants Lisa Devaney and Darika Ahrens, and Dave Haynes of SoundCloud. Things were kept to the point and informative through our innovative form of ‘speed networking’, in which each speaker was given a short amount of time at each table of guests to pitch and discuss an idea about social media.
