London – Graphic designer Craig Oldham is opening an exhibition at the KK Outlet in London tomorrow that explores the idea of the hand-written letter.
For the Hand.Written.Letter.Project designers created 100 letters, expressing their thoughts and ideas. Each designer or design studio’s letter featured their unique letterhead.
‘The point was to make people think about how much time they take to correspond with each other,’ says Danielle Pender, gallery manager of KK Outlet. ‘Hand-written letter forms make people consider what they are writing much more deeply, and make the communication much more crafted and beautiful.’
Designers, brands and consumers are increasingly realising the importance of analogue communication, and the craft that this implies.
For another example of how crafted communication can be compelling, see our Inform feature on Mark Paton and Caz Hildebrand of Here Design.
