Commuter cycle: Levi's line is streets ahead

San Francisco – Denim brand Levi’s has announced a new range of clothing designed for commuter cycling.

The Commuter range includes a modified version of the brand’s 511 skinny jeans, and a trucker jacket, both designed with additional features to optimise the products for the urban commuter cyclist.

The jeans include a utility waistband, designed for u-lock storage, and reflective tape on interior cuffs to offer heightened visibility. The jacket has a front pocket to store an iPod, and accordion sleeves for increased mobility when riding.

‘We knew that our jeans were already being worn by urban cyclists across the country, including our own designers,’ says Erik Joule, senior vice-president of Levi’s Men’s Merchandising and Design. ‘We listened to what they wanted, and created a product with performance traits for cycling that also functions as daily streetwear.’
