Milan – Belgian contemporary art curators Z33 will show a selection of new works from international artists at the Milan Furniture Fair.
The OpenStructures exhibit centres around the work of Belgian designer Thomas Lommée. Previously shown at the Z33 gallery in Belgium, Lommée’s modular construction system lets consumers make their own products from an adaptable geometric grid. The idea is to encourage open design – initiating the exchange of parts, components, experiences and ideas.
Other designers, including Lenneke Langenhuijsen and Aldo Bakker, will also display new pieces as part of the show, and each exhibitor will also design a new component for the OpenStructures system.
LS:N Global will be attending Milan Design Week and will report from the shows. In the meantime, look out for our forthcoming Milan Design Week preview.
