A new wireless menu pad concept could put control into the hands of diner, who will be able to order via an interactive electronic device. The EPOS-lite portable device, designed by Allport Design, is an example of future food packaging, and acts as an interactive menu that allows diners to select meals and drinks by pressing the touch-screen menu. It even accepts payment – leaving just the food delivery down to the waiter. Waiting for the bill, paying and getting a receipt at the end of a meal often takes more time than necessary, with waiters prioritising customers still dining or waiting to order. This new pad could speed up this slow process, and demonstrates the practical applications of e-paper.
