Cult Ceramics aims to popularise unpasteurised vinegar

09 : 05 : 2017 Food & Drink : Wellness : Health

London – The Cult Vinegar range features live bacterial cultures, which are said to improve gut health and certain skin conditions.

Fermented food and drink products such as kimchi, kombucha and sauerkraut are increasingly popular in the UK, and Cult Ceramics is tapping into the growing desire for products that feature live bacterial cultures by marketing its range of unpasteurised vinegars as health food items.

The range comprises eight vinegars made from different types of wine including Bordeaux, Riesling and Ruby Port, which are packaged inside dropper bottles to encourage customers to use them sparingly. ‘Because it is alive, you use it to dress things rather than cook with it from scratch,’ Cult Ceramics founder Jonathan Brown tells LS:N Global.

‘Everyone knows about vinegar from a young age – they have had it on their chips or in a salad dressing. It’s very much part and parcel of our diet,’ says Brown. ‘People are increasingly realising just how versatile it is.’

Cult Ceramics has also designed a range of ceramic vases for consumers to ferment their own vinegar at home.

The Big Picture

  • Consumers are taking a more holistic approach to food and drink, and brands such as Cult Vinegar and Cured are helping them to learn more about the fermentation process
