Wrocław – The bold colour palette and soft furnishings at new patisserie Nanan are inspired by all things confectionery.
The compact space, which sits 14 people, creates a cosy, intimate feel. This sense of intimacy is heightened by plush, padded walls in hues of nougat pink and chairs in marshmallow pink.
A variety of textures are used to reflect the wealth of pastries on offer, including smooth, two-tone marble table surfaces that stand out amid the soft furnishings. A selection of the patisserie’s handcrafted macarons, cakes, pralines and éclairs are housed inside two glass display cases near the entrance.
‘The shape of the display counter, lamps, mirrors and the patisserie’s visual identity is inspired by the éclair, which is Nanan’s speciality,’ Dominika Buck, main project developer at Studio Buck, tells LS:N Global. ‘We wanted to create a dreamy landscape – a place where time stops and helps you to forget about the world.’
The colour pink was used to similar effect at London’s Sketch restaurant, which features varying shades of pink throughout the space.
As LS:N Global examined in our Sweet Allure design direction, brands are borrowing design cues from the world of confectionary to create interiors that look good enough to eat.
