New York – Ford has opened Ford Hub, an interactive brand experience studio that shines a spotlight on the mobility arm of its business.

  • The studio is located in the shopping centre and transport hub Westfield World Trade Center
  • Visitors can take part in a variety of mobility-themed activities, including a game in which players race through a futuristic city on different modes of transport

The interactive space aims to introduce consumers to Ford’s vision for the future of transport. The company, which recently rebranded as an auto and mobility company, has expanded its offer to introduce fleets of ride-sharing vans and bicycle rentals, and announced in 2016 its plan to have a ‘high-volume, fully autonomous SAE level 4-capable vehicle in commercial operation in 2021’.

Ford Hub features an interactive mobility map that provides real-time information on traffic in the city including ferries and trains, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to bridging the gap between private and public transport.

The brand’s mobility services are highlighted in an ad that will make its debut in the coveted air time before the Super Bowl kick-off. The 90-second spot shows people caught in a variety of frustrating situations before announcing: ‘Nobody likes being stuck. That’s why Ford is developing new ways to help you move through life’.

The Big Picture

Brands such as Ford and Tesla are tapping into the Ride-share Market and developing innovative platforms and services that are changing the way that consumers think about transport.
