Cardiff – A student has designed a way to charge your mobile phone with kinetic energy, without the need for a battery.
Matteo Trisolini Longobardi, who is an MSc student studying Advanced Product Design at UWIC in Cardiff, has developed the concept Nokia EC509 Green Core eco-friendly mobile phone.
‘The phone uses your finger and a common action of spinning an object ‘like spinning your keys’ to charge the mobile phone,’ Longobardi told LS:N Global.
The phone uses a recycled PET screen cover, LED battery indicators and rubber to reduce e-waste. For more on how brands can adopt an environmentally friendly agenda, read our feature on cradle-to-cradle production.
