16 : 05 : 2016 Wellness Clubs : Social Interactions : Wellness

Global – Exclusive wellness clubs and apps are facilitating social interactions and redefining what it means to meet, mingle and be well.

  • With the rise of Conviviality Culture consumers are keen to participate in wellness in a social atmosphere
  • New Bricolage consumers who travel the world can quickly feel at home with a wellness club

Healthy hangouts that aim to connect peers in the health and wellness space are growing in popularity. Spurred on by monthly fitness membership apps such as ClassPass that encourage friends to work out together by sharing their schedule has meant that working out doesn’t have to be a solo affair or limited to one bricks-and-mortar space.

Tapping into this idea is Wellvyl (well-ville), a new social club in New York that organises wellness hangouts in various locations all over the city. With events including a Health and Wellness Hangout Party and a Health and Wellness JAMbalaya, members are encouraged to bring new guests along to join in the convivial experience. ‘Wellness and fitness are now a part of everyday life. People are seeking a place to get fit and be well, but also a place to socialise,’ Leigh Fergus, founder of Be:Fit Festival, tells LS:N Global.

The Big Picture

With the rise of Body Temples, friends are bonding over wellbeing as a common interest and seek to share their experience with others. For more on how to connect with consumers on a deeper level through the lens of wellness, read our Social Wellness microtrend.
