Las Vegas – A Smart Remote by technology start-up Sevenhugs can control any of the home’s connected devices.
The Smart Remote is the first contextually aware remote control. Using smart sockets placed around a room to triangulate its position, the device dynamically adapts its display and function depending on where it is pointing.
The remote is already compatible with Philips Hue lights, Sonos speakers and the Nest Thermostat, and can be programmed to control almost any Bluetooth- or wifi-enabled device. Designed to feel more intuitive than a standard universal remote control, the Smart Remote boasts a number of unique features such as a weather report function activated by motioning towards a window.
‘Smart home technology fragmentation remains an obstacle, with every connected object needing to be controlled by a dedicated app or remote control,’ explains Sevenhugs co-founder Simon Tchedikian.
