Istanbul is the third incarnation of The Moving Museum, a non-profit-making, non-political organisation founded by Aya Mousawi and Simon Sakhai, which began its long journey around the world in Dubai in 2013, with a stop in London in between. In each location The Moving Museum invites local artists to join its growing team of international artists to explore the form and structure of the exhibition.

Over the past three months 36 international artists have joined 12 local artists in a period of intensive research, production and public engagement, during which each was commissioned to engage in a major new work using the city as a focal point.

The exhibition opened on 28 October at the Sishane Otopark, and will run until 14 December.

Read our macrotrend The New Value Economy for more on how projects such as The Moving Museum are re-inventing abstract concepts such as reputation, time and privacy.
