Istanbul – In a recent redesign, R&D Denim Studio has been transformed into an impressively seamless space.
The studio and showroom now gives a revived meaning to the phrase ‘open plan’. Designed by Turkish architects Zemberek Tasarim, the space is a stark combination of concrete walls and ceilings with wooden flooring.
It effortlessly merges desk space, product display and storage through a network of large upper and lower wooden decks. Cut out lower decks provide seats and desks for workers, while concealed drawers and shelves offer tidy storage solutions. Products hang off steel rails lining the walls. A circular design runs through the studio and lends a feeling of fluidity and flow to the space.
A recent survey by The Future Laboratory discovered that workers are increasingly looking for multi-disciplinary, collaborative and open work spaces, and R&D Denim Studio is a great example. For further insights, read our market report on The Future Workplace.
