Chicago – A new exhibition presents 99 actions that can prompt positive change in contemporary cities.

Actions: What You Can Do With the City brings together the projects of a large group of activists, including architects, engineers and university professors, who have previously brought radical change to cities. Some of the projects on display consider how planning and the creation of public spaces can strengthen community interactions, others look at how abandoned buildings can be reclaimed for new purposes.

The exhibition, presented by the Canadian Centre for Architecture, aims to show the potential influence of personal involvement in shaping a city. It is currently open to the public at the Graham Foundation in Chicago.

These radical and daring ways in which people are changing cities will be featured in more depth in our forthcoming Betapreneurs trend report.
