London – At our Future of Media Network evening, held at The Future Laboratory HQ last week, LS:N Global senior journalist Peter Firth interviewed Joel Davis, founder of the UK’s first social media agency, to discuss how social media as we know it is vanishing.

Davis spoke about the trajectory of social media since he began his agency in 2007, and the shift from text- to image-based platforms in the past few years. He also suggested that social media would soon be extinct. ‘Social media won’t exist anymore, because there isn’t a fundamental difference a website and a social media network,’ Davis said. ‘Everything is becoming social.’

Despite this, Davis believes the future is bright and that social media could be used as a tool to solve some of the world’s problems. To find out how, watch the video above.
