Stockholm – Finland-born designer Sami Kallio was inspired by his childhood memories when creating The Finnish Blood In Me collection, on show at the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
The Workshop lamp is made from untreated ash, with the cord hidden inside the steam-bent arm. The yellow shade is attached with a leather band that enables it to be repositioned along the arm.
The collection also features two chairs. Sliced is made from bent wood and solid ash, while Layer is a stackable chair made from solid wood and laser cut aluminium sheets in colours such as blue and yellow.
As LS:N Global explores in our Full of Grace Inspire, the clean lines in Kallio’s designs are balanced by the smooth curves and warm wood tones.
LS:N Global’s visual editor Emma Chiu and writer Jonna Dagliden are attending the 2011 Stockholm Furniture Fair and will report on the main trends and launches throughout the week.
