Porto – Architect Francesco Moncada has created an installation for the Wrong Weather fashion and lifestyle store in the Portuguese city featuring modular structures that can be reconfigured in different patterns.
The installation, called Algebraic Variations, consists of 206 modules that can be rearranged in accordance with an Atlas of Shapes created by Moncada. The configurations – archetypal shapes based on algebraic geometry – include a WAVE of 48 tables, a SPIRAL of 36 columns and a DUNE of 120 rectangles.
Other stores have adopted similar flexible modular solutions, as seen in our recent Seed on fashion label Our Legacy’s Welcome store in Stockholm.
