Saint Etienne, France – French designer Mathieu Lehanneur has presented a range of designs for Schneider Electric that optimises the energy consumption of homes, at the St Etienne Design Bienniale.
The Efficient Home collection aims to reduce carbon footprints and electricity bills.
Nano controllers and smart plugs are available for household objects such as boilers, fridges and televisions. Sensors then transmit real-time electrical information, allowing consumers to regulate their consumption.
All the devices are white and minimal in design. Available in shapes resembling letters such as an X, O and A, Lehanneur says he has created an ‘energy alphabet’.
