Los Angeles – Rock band Ok Go has found a new way to promote its music, using a ‘big, awesome psycho-spatial geo-musical techno-sonic parade party’.
The event was sponsored by Range Rover Evoque as part of the car brand’s City Shapers Programme, which funds art projects. It encouraged people across LA, as well as around the globe, to dance.
‘We’re using standard GPS technology and an iPhone app to track our journey and draw out our path. In short: mobile music party makes a picture,’ the band explains.
People anywhere in the world could participate by using the Range Rover Pulse of the City app. Images were then shared with Ok Go by uploading them onto the helloevoque.com website, and the band will be compiling the pictures into a film.
