Osaka – A newly refurbished bakery, Panscape 2jo, by Japanese firm Ninkipen! borrows its aesthetic cues from Rough Luxe.
Visitors can order from the exposed concrete counter, which adds to the raw feel of the space. The smell of newly baked bread from the wood-burning oven creates the emotional attachment that is key to Rough Luxe Spaces. From outside, passers-by are tempted by the pastries in the window, and drawn in by the bright yellow light. But so are the mice – the bakery comes complete with a specially designed mouse hole.
