Melbourne – Shoppers in the Chadstone Shopping Centre can escape the urban environment by popping into the Capital Kitchen, a new homewares and food store, designed by creative agency Mim Design. According to its creators, The Big Group caterers, it is designed in the style of a modern farmhouse.
Illustrations on the walls and takeaway bags depict nostalgic items such as classic 60s milk bottles, egg cups and jams, all representing a time ‘when things were slower, quieter and less chaotic,’ according to designers the Cornwell agency.
The use of timber, brick and farm-style finishes such as the big, white sink adds to the feeling of a warm country farmhouse.
