Paris – Children will enjoy the redesigned workshops at the Pompidou Centre, completed by designer Mathieu Lehanneur.
L’Atelier des Enfants (Children’s Workshop) looks like a skate park with its white surfaces that curve into each other. The education centre, which will be used for arts and crafts, and dance and video projects, is for children aged between 2 and 12.
‘I had an image of a skate park in my mind for children artists: an object space that is experienced like a game – a far cry from the school universe,’ said Lehanneur.
As LS:N Global explores in our feature about Kidult spaces, such areas demonstrate how learning and stimulation for children is possible via aesthetics and activities that appeal across generations, creating a shared environment and a closer connection between child and parent.
