Why wellness is going digital

While many of us feel that our wellbeing depends on turning off digital distractions, new online platforms are creating virtual sanctuaries that offer a new vision of wellness.

Global – The growth of the wellness industry can probably be linked to our increasingly digital lives. But while many of us feel that our wellbeing depends on turning off digital distractions, new online platforms are creating virtual sanctuaries that offer a new vision of wellness.

Democratising wellness through virtual reality (VR), Infinity House Retreat requires a Google Cardboard viewer and its associated app. The virtual destination provides members with access to online-led workouts and meditation sessions, or liaison with nutrition experts to provide a focus for mind-body self-optimisation. ‘It is a place to retreat from the madness of this world. All you need to do is put on your headset, and if you need a motivational talk or just need to calm down, one of our amazing visionaries can help you, all in the comfort of your own safe space,’ Rosemary Reed, co-founder of Infinity House and 360° VR, tells LS:N Global.

With the proliferation of online fitness classes, those in the sector seeking to be competitive are offering a more holistic approach. Web-based community Mission 360 is already tapping into this idea by assisting users to improve not just their physical but their mental and emotional wellbeing.

The Big Picture
