Guests commenced with a sumptuous lunch of either fjord hake with black trompette mushrooms, cavolo nero and a trompette and cavolo nero powder, or cauliflower risotto with Ticklemore goat’s cheese, inspired by our Anti-choice Architecture microtrend. After lunch, The Future Laboratory’s co-founders Chris Sanderson and Martin Raymond presented a global market overview to the attendees.

Speakers included Cara David, managing partner at YouGov, Mandeep and Hardeep Kaur, co-founders of PER/se, and Thierry Campet, global head of marketing communications wealth management at UBS. On the second day we welcomed Dr Helen Crowley, head of sustainable sourcing innovation at Kering, Sylvie Freund-Pickavance, director at Value Retail Management, and Keyvan Nilforoushan, deputy CEO at OneFineStay.

Cara David took to the stage to explain that Millennials and ultra-high-net-worth consumers are two demographics that are continuing to invest in luxury. ‘By 2025, Generations X, Y and D, all aged under 52, will control 85% of luxury spending,’ she explained.

Sustainability and transparency were at the centre of Sylvie Freund-Pickavance’s discussion, which highlighted why brands should change the way they think about sustainability to approach it as an opportunity rather than an inconvenience.

Our Luxury Index provided valuable insights into the modern luxurian, including the fact that 37% equate luxury with privacy. We also introduced LS:N Global’s most up-to-date content, exploring our Sortby Serendipity microtrend and Anti-luxurians tribe.
