Belo Horizonte – MACh architects have designed the new Nanak Emporium in Brazil around the Sikh triangulated concept of health, happiness and holiness.
The layout of the store – which sells home and organic products, and vegan and gluten-free produce – is based on a linear grid. Combined with luminescent panels, this lends the space a feeling of calm.
LS:N Global is impressed with the emporium’s segregated central café space in which customers can sit and have a drink away from the visual noise of the products on the shelves around the edge of the shop floor.
We also like the modular central tables, which allow the layout to be redesigned to suit different types of shopping days and events.
The store is named after Sikh guru Nanak Dev and the logo – which is printed on the shelving panels – represents the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
