Eau de pâtisserie: The sweet smell of cake

London – Department store Harrods is to host afternoon teas inspired by classic fragrances. For The Perfume Diaries expert pâtissier Eric Lanlard will create six cakes, puddings and pastries infused with perfume notes.

Cakes will include Grace, a miniature loaf cake inspired by the French town of Grasse, known as the perfume capital of the world. Shot St Honoré is a fruit cream dessert in a shot glass with added lemongrass and coconut. Little Violet is a tiny tartlet scented with violet essence.
