London – E-commerce fashion site ASOS has unveiled a 90s-inspired video for the launch of its Revive spring/summer collection, which embodies the Netstalgic visual culture explored in LS:N Global’s recent spring Trend Briefing.
The video mimics the format of being shot in video rather than digital. A PLAY icon is set in the top left of the film, which appears over a recording time. The collection, created by East London designer Ebru Ercon, features a return to 90s design cues.
The video is a great example of tapping into the emerging nostalgia for the early 90s. For more on how to incorporate the visual language of this period into your brand’s agenda in 2012, read our Netstalgia toolkit.
