Tokyo – A new sweet shop, Papabubble, sells hand-made caramels and serves as an exhibition and production space.
Created by design studio f.a.t, the shop has an open kitchen in which visitors can watch the ‘caramel artisans’ at work. They make colourful caramel flowers, jewellery and tiny fruit slices. To give visitors a sensorial experience, the demonstration is not only visually pleasing, but also provides scents and sounds.
LS:N Global has explored how retailers are creating a sense of theatre in our Beyond Product feature. For more on the celebration of the craft process, read our Show Your Working micro trend.
