Milan – After last season’s brash, bold approach, this year Miuccia Prada wanted to challenge the passion of women at Milan Fashion Week by presenting a mixture of glamorous elements with girlish, dropped waist dresses that fall above the knee.
Silhouettes referenced 1960s, Mary Quant-style dresses with Mondrianesque markings contrasted with green snakeskin and apricot fur. As the models clutched their bags firmly to their chests there was an air of defiance rather than innocence – an unashamed celebration of femininity that is sure to influence the coming high street trends for autumn/winter 2011.
