Amsterdam – A restaurant popular with locals during the 70s and 80s has re-opened in the Dutch capital. Restaurant Witteveen, designed by Amsterdam studio Concrete, is a modern brasserie that evokes its history through neat interior touches.

An expansive, vibrantly coloured tiled floor is an up-to-date take on the Persian rugs that decked the tables of the original eatery, while other homely touches include cosy nooks furnished with Chesterfield sofas, and a separate living room that may be reserved for a private dining area or meeting space.

The restaurant is likely to be popular amongst Amsterdam’s No-Frills Affluents – consumers who demand an unassuming yet stylish setting – and design-savvy ThirtyfiveUp parents, who will appreciate the thoughtfully equipped playroom and schedule of children’s activities.
