Tokyo – A new line of products is inspired by designers’ personal experiences in Oslo. Shown at the Oslo-Tokyo exhibition as part of the Tokyo Design Tide show, each piece tells an individual story based on a designer’s time in the city.
Breakfast by Stokke Austad, for instance, is a simple kitchen tray made of cork, inspired by Austad’s experience of having the best breakfast in bed ever in Oslo. Lykkelig is a floor lamp by She Design built from second-hand objects and was inspired by the vintage trade of the Grünerløkka district of the city. And Kikut by Anderssen & Voll is a birchwood container for dried mushrooms based on an experience the designers had of eating the fungi in the city.
As well as having a personal narrative, the lean and pure designs also relate to our Full of Grace design direction.
