California – Google has created a time capsule for the film Interstellar by assembling creative contributions sent in by fans of the film.
- Fans were asked to share memories and highlights ‘to pass our stories along to future generations’
- The short documentary by director Christopher Nolan is available free on Google Play
Directed by David Brodie and Adrian Wall, and curated by Christopher Nolan, the film pulls together a mass of user-generated material – with some additions from Brodie and Wall – to create a panoramic view of life on Earth. The title, EMIC, refers to the anthropological study of cultures. ‘Considering Interstellar’s themes, the only way to go about making this film was to take this user-generated approach where you pull your content from the breadth and depth of humanity,’ Wall told Fast Company.
