London – Specialists from the UK’s leading luxury travel brands gathered last night at The Connaught to hear about the future of luxury.
Hosted by April Hutchinson, editor of luxury travel industry bible ttgluxury, the TTG Directors’ Club event began with a presentation from LS:N Global editor James Wallman.
Citing case studies from LS:N Global’s 265-page Luxury Futures report such as the Waterhouse Hotel in Shanghai, the Ace Hotel in Manhattan and the Lost & Found project in Melbourne, Wallman revealed key findings on the new rules of luxury, the importance of meaning, myth, collaboration and heritage. ‘But your brand does not need to be 100 years old to have heritage,’ said Wallman. ‘It’s possible to have instant and meaningful heritage, as cycling brand Rapha has proved.’
