US – Facebook-based games company Zynga has launched its own dotcom site, diversifying beyond its established Facebook platform games.
The site, which is now live, features a new function called Social Stream that enables people to play games in real time and find new friends. ‘We have built Zynga.com to complement Facebook’s pervasive social graph,’ wrote Zynga CEO Mark Pincus in a blog post on the new site.
This is an interesting development for the games company, as it is working with Facebook, where it accounts for 12% of the social network’s revenues. At present, 93% of Zynga’s revenues come from Facebook.
