London- To promote their new album, The Future is Medieval, British indie rock band The Kaiser Chiefs have teamed up with design agency Wieden + Kennedy to design a website where fans can create their own copy of the album.
Fans can choose 10 songs from a list of 20, and pick their own background and image for the cover. The album can then be downloaded for £7.50. For each one sold, the creator will receive a £1 commission.
‘This is the first of its kind. Not only can fans create their own version of the album, they can sell it to others,’ explains Wieden + Kennedy.
In a changing market, this is another example of how consumers are becoming part of the decision-making process, finding new solutions and creating their own products.
