Detroit motor show
2010 might be remembered as the year the Detroit Motor Show finally started to go green. In traditional fashion some big cars were unveiled, from a special-edition Ford Mustang – endorsed by rapper Nelly – to the Cadillac XTS large luxury saloon, but the biggest headlines were made by the smaller and more eco-friendly vehicles. Ken Billes, one of the designers behind Toyota’s new compact Hybrid FT-CH concept, reflects: ‘It’s a strong statement to present a small car in Detroit.’ Indeed.
